Ripio Trade

Created in 2013, Ripio is a cryptocurrency exchange with a significant presence in the Latin American and European markets, operating in Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay, Mexico, Colombia, and Spain. In 2021, Ripio acquired BitcoinTrade, one of the leading cryptocurrency exchanges in Brazil, and in 2023, officially integrated the brand into its product ecosystem.

Ripio Trade is a cryptocurrency exchange primarily geared towards intermediate and advanced users. With over 70 crypto assets available, the platform offers API connections and allows trading of major cryptocurrencies.

Objective

With Ripio's acquisition of BitcoinTrade in 2021 and the integration of the brand in 2023, we faced the challenge of executing an effective redesign and implementing a Single Sign-On (SSO) system that unified user access across both platforms.

Usability Testing

The creation of personas for the Ripio Trade project was essential for understanding and mapping the diverse needs, goals, and behaviors of users. By defining specific profiles, such as experienced traders, intermediate investors, and curious beginners, the team can prioritize features and usability elements that effectively meet the requirements of each group. This approach ensures a robust experience tailored to the varying levels of knowledge and expectations of the users.

Result

The Ripio Trade project resulted in a robust cryptocurrency platform with a unified interface through the Himalaya 2.0 design system, simplified access via Single Sign-On, advanced features for experienced traders, and usability improvements based on global benchmarks. The interface is responsive across various devices, providing a modern, secure experience tailored to the needs of intermediate and advanced users in multiple markets.
